Respecting When You're Ready - Inspired By: Not Doing the Dishes

Hey,

Why do the dishes until you're ready?

Why move in with someone, lose your virginity, get a job, quit, get married, cut your hair, shave your beard, or do anything until you're ready?

I don't mean ready in the sense of "it's all planned out perfectly, I know exactly what to do, I'm all ready to go" - because that never really happens.

I mean ready in the sense of "I want to". That's it.

What good ever comes from forcing yourself to do something?

The very fact that you need to force yourself speaks that your body and spirit aren't ready and willing yet - so why do it?

Your mind is so convinced that it's the right thing to do - but if you need to force yourself - is it really?

If you need so many fiery opinions, strong convictions, or layers of reasons why you should do something - what are you forcing yourself against?

Respect when you're ready.

Even if it means going through the uncomfortable moment of not doing the dishes when you were supposed to, and taking the leap of faith that some time soon you'll really want to, and have a wonderful, not forceful, dish-washing experience.
